We are pleased to
announce that this Labour Day Saturday, September 3rd,
2011, a new car event was born, maintaining the spirit
of the former Steamworks Concours d’ Elegance but taking
place on the grassy lawn of spectacular Blackie Spit in
Crescent Beach.
A ‘by invitation’
event, there were cars and motorcycles covering a broad
span of makes and years and coming from all over British
Columbia and Washington State. A select judging team
chose six main awards for the day. The list of award
winners can be found on the Event Details page.
This event was
unique in its setting by the beach and with the flavour
of a summer’s end picnic.
For casual photos of
the 2011 event, click on the Event Details tab at the
bottom of this page and go to ‘The Gallery’. For
official photos by our event photographer, Cam Hutchins,
scroll down to his own website under ‘External Links’.
We are also
delighted to report that the Invitational participants
raised $2,201.06 for Children’s Hospital, with another
$200 about to be added in from the British Motorcycle
Owners’ club. The link on our site is still open if
anyone else wishes to donate.
Stay tuned to this
website for upcoming information and entry forms for the
2012 event, which will be held Labour Day Saturday, 2012
(same location.)
